Join the discussion of Emily Tesh's book The Incandescent virtually August 19th or in person at Heirloom Market on August 21st. It's been 3 years since I created @thereplantedwitch with the book club, Witchy Reads. I started out on this endeavor to create community, to host safe spaces for people to explore magic, to inspire a deep reverence for nature in children, to empower women to find their voice and come out of the proverbial broom closet. In our times, I feel strongly that we need magic and community more than ever. I have never claimed to be an expert in anything that I'm teaching. I have simply wanted to create something magical and fill the space with ideas, history, potions, spells and potential. Thank you to everyone who has joined one of my workshops, read one of our monthly books or joined me around the table for our wheel of the year celebrations. I look forward to new opportunities, new spaces and new connections. I do this for all of us. #witches Thank you to @thehistoricwhitney for the fun, informative and creepy #paranormal tour of the mansion and carriage house. If anyone finds themselves in #Detroit this experience was well worth it, just to see the architectural details alone. Although we did have some ghost activity including a woman having her hair pulled! #haunted #ghosts I know I'm jumping ahead in suggesting this now... but I'm excited! What do you guys think about a casual social meet up to go see Practical Magic 2 when it comes out this September and heading over to @conspiracymdltwn afterwards for cocktails? I'd love to hang out with you all!!! I'm currently in the process of researching and creating a workshop on the magical home. We will meet domestic goddesses, talk about curating your space, room by room, learn about protective spells for the home, altars and much more! Is this something you'd be interested in? I'm hoping to have it ready in time for spooky season. Exciting news! I have finally taken a stab at creating a website. My initial attempt is live and will surely go through transformation as I learn more. But it's a start! Ps: if anyone is willing to share their WordPress knowledge with me, I'd love to connect! I was just witness to a horrific hit and run in Old Wethersfield of a beaver 🦫. There were no cars behind and the driver had ample time to see the animal approach the road and slow down accordingly. I have become overwhelmed as of late by man's indifference and blatant disregard for wild animals. I have started a personal practice of audibly apologizing to the #animals that I see on the sides of roads and pulling over to see if the animal can be helped or moved to the side. You can use your energy as a #witch (or just a person with a good heart) to visualize cupping your hand over their temple, sending white energy to their spirit. Imagine them in your arms and then melting into a soft bed of grass. Wish their spirits well and you may even say "go to the light" or "blessings, blessings, blessings" or anything else that feels right. I hope this reaches other gentle souls who need to read this. Join me @thereplantedwitch on August 8th at 10:30am for a program on the basics of tea leaf reading at the Deep River Public Library. We will go over the type of tea to use, symbolism of the tools involved and a splash of history. Then participants can enjoy a cup of tea and use a printed guide to seek out and interpret the message revealed in their cup.
